So excited to be in Toronto with my daughter Katryn! Yesterday I had arrived at the airport in Winnipeg early. My boarding pass had told me to wait at Gate 5, which I confirmed was a flight to Toronto, however an hour later than expected, but oh well 'I'll just relax until it's time to board'...until I heard my name announced on the load speaker...last call for passenger Crystal Kolt at Gate 11!! Amazing how fast a middle aged person actually dragging an 18 lb backpack can run (I didn't have time to put it on so I literally dragged it from one end of the airport to the other). Fellow Flin Flonners Daniel Dillon and Libby were at the airport and so they were frantically texting me as well when they heard my name. Anyways, I made it! I did notice the eyeball roll from the stewardess as I flopped onto the plane but who cares, how awful it would have been to have missed my flight after so much planning. Minutes earlier I had texted Katryn, first that I would be at the airport an hour late, then that I would be at the Toronto airport ontime...and she was texting me that she was able to borrow a car and pick me up at the airport. NONE of these texts however got to their destinations! So once I arrived at the Toronto airport I jumped into a taxi to head to Katryn's condo to find out (from all the texts flooding my phone) that she was waiting at the airport! My taxi driver was great, turned the car around once he found an off ramp and hooray!! Katryn and I met up. We went Kensington Market, Trinity Bellwoods Park, Graffiti Alley, Katryn treated us to hair blowouts at Her Magesty's Pleasure, we had an amazing dinner at Lee's restaurant and are about to enjoy Canada Day.
